A story like that of many – and yet it is my very own. My name is Angelique Günther and I was born in 1990 in the beautiful, diverse city of Frankfurt am Main.

My passion for dogs was placed in my little baby hands very early on, for my parents let me grow up with a Labrador mix named Champ. When I was fourteen, Champ sadly passed away – but my affection continued to burn for all dogs.

In 2006 I got my first own dog, named Sancho, an Old German Shepherd. Through him my passion was truly ignited. Sancho unfortunately only lived to eight years because of an illness. In 2014 Mia moved in with me, and about one and a half years later Sam followed.

Mia entered my life as a twelve-week-old puppy of an Old German Shepherd. With big paws and a lot of nonsense in her head, she immediately crept into my heart. Switching from an eight-year-old shepherd weakened by illness to a young puppy was a huge leap. It did not take long, and in April 2016 we adopted Sam, the German Shepherd, from Spain.

In November 2022, Sam was diagnosed with arthrosis in both knees, and so I set out in search of the right food supplement. Sam unfortunately has a rather sensitive stomach and reacts very quickly to artificial additives. After a long search and many attempts with other products, I came across the joint support from DOG FIT. As I really liked the composition, I tried it – and since then Sam gets it every day. Up to now he no longer needs any painkillers.

Mia, too, has some health challenges. One of them concerns her gastrointestinal tract, in addition to her hip and both knees. With her too I tried many things and finally ended up with the joint food from DOG FIT. Because of the many medications she receives, her immune system is unfortunately often strained. For caring strengthening she therefore gets our special immune product.

My professional career

In 2014 I started my first training that had to do with dogs: the training as a nutrition advisor for dogs. But that was not yet enough for me. So in 2019 I completed the training as an animal health practitioner – first in Frankfurt, then in Gießen. But that too was not enough for me. My wish and dream had always been to be able to offer everything to do with the dog.

So in 2020 I began a further training as a dog physiotherapist and in 2021 one as a dog osteopath. I completed both at Paracelsus in Gießen. In between, I attended many seminars and further-education courses at the most diverse institutes and with the most diverse lecturers, for I personally consider it very important to draw my knowledge from as many sources as possible.

Among others, I have completed the following further-education courses

• Coach for mental aromatherapy for dogs
• Caring end-of-life support for animals
• Possible uses of CBD in dogs and cats
• Assessment of blood counts in animal naturopathy
• Dealing with chronic intestinal diseases in dogs and many other topics

Since February 2020 I have been running my mobile practice for the dog in Frankfurt, Bruchköbel and Hanau, as well as within a radius of 25 kilometres.

Why I decided on a mobile practice

The answer is quite simple. A therapy in the familiar environment has several advantages – for the owners and for the dog itself. It is significantly less stressful and is very readily accepted by the animal. In addition, during the analysis of its gait pattern, the dog tends to show its actual problem more, because it does not have the feeling of a clinical examination. For you as the owner it has the advantage that you neither have to be mobile nor lose time driving to a practice.

With every patient I invest a lot of time and love in caring supervision, advice and therapy, for it is a matter close to my heart that the dog feels better again quickly. My plans and my kind of therapy always have a personal touch and build on my experience and my well-founded knowledge. We at DOG FIT look forward to supporting you and your dog on this path.
