You have to pay attention to this!

Our range includes supplemental feed for dogs and cats. These are not intended to cure illnesses and do not replace a visit to the veterinarian. Supplemental feed is not a substitute for a balanced and species-appropriate diet. Supplemental feed not labeled for puppies should only be fed to adult animals. They should be stored out of reach of children and in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The recommended daily dose of supplemental feed should not be exceeded.

Important: Supplemental feed often takes several weeks to take effect. As with most supplemental feeds, patience is required. An effect is most likely not expected within a few days.

The manufacturer of the products is solely responsible for all information in the shop. All information is provided without guarantee. Subject to change. Product images and packaging in the shop may differ from the delivered products. All ingredients and feeding recommendations can also be found on the product packaging.

Do I have to have an account to order?

No, you can also order as a guest. However, an account offers you the following advantages:

How do I register for a customer account?

Option 1: Click the user icon in the top navigation bar and select “Log in or sign up”. Enter your details under “I'm a new customer” and complete the process with “Continue”. The customer account checkbox is already ticked – simply leave it activated. You will then be taken straight to your customer account.

Option 2: You can also register during checkout. In the step where your address is requested, simply leave the customer account checkbox activated.

How do I use a voucher code?

Enter the voucher code or gift voucher in the designated field in your shopping cart or during checkout and click the button next to it to apply it.

Which payment methods are accepted?

We offer a wide range of payment methods: prepayment, PayPal (including PayPal Pay Later, SEPA direct debit and credit card), Klarna, EPS and many others for specific countries. From your second order onwards, purchase on account is also available in Germany.

Can I have it delivered to a parcel locker?

Yes, delivery to a DHL Packstation is possible. In the address form, simply select “DHL Packstation” as the address type and enter the Packstation number and your post number. Please note: the Packstation cannot be used with UPS shipping.

I want to change my address. How can I do that?

You can change your address or enter an alternative delivery address in your customer account at any time. If you ordered as a guest or express customer, you unfortunately do not have a customer account. In that case, simply enter your new address with your next order.

If you would like to change the address after you have already placed an order, please send us an e-mail as quickly as possible to service@dog-fit.com – with your name, the order number and the new delivery address. If the order is already being processed for shipping, the address can unfortunately no longer be changed.

If I forgot my password, what should I do?

Please follow these steps to set a new password:

1. Click on “User” in the top navigation bar
2. Click on “Log in or sign up”
3. Then click on “Click here if you have forgotten your password.”
4. Enter your e-mail address and click on “Request e-mail”.
5. We will then send you an e-mail containing a link – click on it to create a new password.

Switching to eco-friendly bags

Our decision to switch from tins to bags is based on several important reasons. One of the main reasons is how environmentally friendly the bags are: they are 100% recyclable and therefore a more sustainable option than our previous tins.

Another advantage of the bags is their flexibility in shipping. Smaller orders can now be sent in smaller boxes, which saves additional resources. Overall, this change allows us to save up to 3 tonnes of plastic waste per year and to significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

How do I use the 5 + 1 offer?

To take advantage of the attractive 5+1 offer , please follow these simple steps:

Choose five identical products or sets: Place five copies of the same product (e.g. 5 x JOINTS small) or the same set (e.g. 5 x JOINTS small & VITAMIN B small) in your shopping cart.

Automatic addition: A sixth product of the selected type/variant will be automatically added to your shopping cart free of charge.

Pre-existing illness

If your animal has a known pre-existing condition that is being treated by a vet or animal naturopath, it is advisable to consult them before using complementary feed.

Painkiller

Before giving painkillers to dogs, it is essential to consult a vet. Giving painkillers such as acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol or ibuprofen on your own initiative can cause toxic reactions in dogs and must be avoided. It is therefore advisable to consult a vet beforehand in order to determine the suitable painkiller and the correct dosage for the dog.

Medication

If medication prescribed by a vet is given at the same time as supplements, it is advisable to consult your vet beforehand in order to rule out possible interactions and to check whether they fit into any existing treatment plan.

Tolerability of our preparations

So that a dog can also benefit from our preparations, we attach great importance to good tolerance. Our products are free of GMOs, gluten, yeast, soy, fructose, sugar, grains, flavors, preservatives and unwanted additives. In addition, we are proud to hold Feed Quality and HACCP ISO 9001 certifications, which show that we adhere to the highest quality and safety standards. We do everything we can to ensure the tolerability of our preparations.

However, it is important to note that tolerance may vary from animal to animal. Every pet is unique and may be more sensitive to certain ingredients than others. For this reason, like every other manufacturer, we cannot 100% rule out intolerance.

If an intolerance occurs within the statutory 14-day return period, we will of course refund the purchase price, regardless of the reason. This regulation ensures that customers are protected, as intolerances can usually occur within a few hours to a few days.

If, however, an intolerance occurs after this 14-day period has expired, we recommend that you first rule out other possible causes, as they do not necessarily have to be related to our preparations. We are available to assist with any questions or concerns.

Thyroid

The dilemma about iodine and thyroid dysfunction

There is a lot of uncertainty when dealing with thyroid problems in dogs, often fueled by information from the Internet. Hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid, is the most common thyroid dysfunction in dogs.

Forms of hypothyroidism:

Primary hypothyroidism: destruction or atrophy of thyroid tissue
Secondary hypothyroidism: destruction, deformity or suppression of the pituitary gland
Tertiary hypothyroidism: malformation or acquired damage to the hypothalamus
Congenital hypothyroidism: congenital defect that is associated, for example, with a disorder of iodine absorption or utilization

Iodine supply: A double-edged sword

An inadequate supply of iodine, whether due to excessive over- or under-supply, can cause long-term damage to the thyroid. Industrially produced feed, to which artificial iodine is often unnecessarily added, can promote an oversupply. What is worrying is that over 90% of dog food belongs to this category and is enriched with numerous additives to compensate for deficiencies in nutritional quality. Unfortunately, thyroid problems are often caused by food.

WHITE dental plus and iodine

The amount of iodine in WHITE dental plus is moderate at around 120mg/kg. A healthy diet for the dog is crucial for species-appropriate and safe use. If you have existing thyroid problems, we recommend avoiding WHITE dental plus and seeking veterinary advice.

For healthy dog nutrition

Switching to fresh and species-appropriate food is beneficial for the dog's health. Uncertainties about feeding can be addressed with our food check, which offers valuable insights into healthy dog nutrition.

The risks of general anesthesia

Like any medical treatment, general anesthesia in dogs carries certain risks. Possible risks include breathing problems, a drop in blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, damage to organs or tissues, allergic reactions to anesthetics, or even death. It is important that the veterinarian assesses the dog's health before anesthesia and discusses possible risks with the owner. To minimize the risk of general anesthesia, the veterinarian's instructions should be followed and a clean and quiet environment should be provided for the dog to recover.

Capsules vs. tablets

There are food supplements as capsules or tablets. We use capsules because they have clear advantages:

Gelatine capsules consist of additional collagen and cellulose capsules are an additional fiber. We use acacia barrels or rice extract as an unavoidable filling agent, which is hardly possible with tablets, which is why many other manufacturers use magnesium stearate, for example.

Furthermore, exact dosage is guaranteed by the precisely defined amount of active ingredient contained. Tablets are also often covered with a synthetic film, which is out of the question for us.

The capsules are preferably fed hidden in a treat or mixed with the food. If the dog does not accept the capsule, it can easily be opened and the contents are mixed into the food.

Kapseln vs. Tabletten

Es gibt Futterergänzungen als Kapseln oder Tabletten. Wir verwenden Kapseln, denn sie haben eindeutige Vorteile:

Gelantine Kapseln bestehen aus zusätzlichem Kollagen und Cellulose Kapseln sind ein zusätzlicher Ballaststoff. Als unvermeidbares Füllmittel verwenden wir Akazienfasser oder einen Reisextrakt , das ist bei Tabletten kaum möglich, von daher verwenden viele andere Hersteller z.B. Magnesiumstearat.

Weiterhin ist eine exakte Dosierung durch die enthaltene und genau definierte Wirkstoffmenge gewährlistet. Tabletten werden zudem oft mit einem synthetischen Film überzogen, das kommt für uns nicht in Frage.

Die Kapseln werden bevorzugt in einem Leckerli versteckt zugefüttert oder mit unter das Futter gemischt. Falls der Hund die Kapsel nicht akzeptiert, kann sie ganz einfach geöffnet werden und der Inhalt wird mit unter das Futter gemischt.

Can our preparations be combined?

All preparations are designed to be combined with one another. They form a comprehensive and harmonious nutrient system that aims to provide your dog with optimal support in various situations. Whether for targeted support or as part of general health care - by combining our products in a targeted manner, you can promote your dog's health holistically. The carefully coordinated ingredients of our preparations can increase their effect when combined and thus optimally support the well-being of your four-legged friend.

Although our products can be combined, this does not mean that "more is better". Useful combinations that are based on previous illnesses or special needs and require an interaction of nutrients from different products can be found in our shop as combination sets. These sets have been put together specifically for common needs and offer optimal support.

For all other combinations or individual needs, we recommend contacting our team. Please give us enough information about your dog, such as breed, age, weight, previous illnesses and current complaints, so that we can offer you the best possible advice.

Can more than 2 preparations be combined?

The combination of more than two preparations is generally possible, although the focus should always be on your dog's individual needs. The principle applies that multiple doses do not automatically mean an improved effect, especially with joint preparations. However, a careful selection and combination of products from different areas of action can work synergistically and thus contribute to comprehensive support of your dog's health.

Which size is right for the dog?

We offer three different product sizes if required: small up to 10 kg, medium 10 kg - 25 kg and large 25 kg to 50 kg. Why is that?

By dividing the products into small, medium and large sizes, dogs can be provided with the right amount of nutrients to ensure optimal utilization. This prevents dogs from getting too little or too much of certain nutrients, which can potentially lead to deficiencies or overdoses.

A dosage that meets the dog's needs is important for the health and well-being of the dog. High-dose nutritional supplements are usually pointless and just a marketing gimmick. On the one hand, too high doses of certain nutrients can be harmful to the dog. On the other hand, excesses (such as B vitamins) are often excreted in the urine and put a strain on the kidneys. Our products are always dosed according to needs.

But my dog weighs exactly 10 kg or 25 kg or is heavier than 50 kg

It's very simple! Is the dog in severe pain? Then the next larger version is an option.
Do you want to take preventative measures or is the dog in mild to moderate pain? Then stick with the up to 10 kg or up to 25 kg version.
For dogs over 50 kg, please look under dosage in the product. A further increase in dosage is generally not necessary for dogs over 50 kg.

How long does one pack last?

One pack contains 60 capsules or 80 g or 120 g of powder and lasts around 2 months, depending on the weight of the dog. For very small dogs it lasts up to 4 months, for very large dogs from 50 kg accordingly less. In return, we offer value sets, the 5 + 1 offer and bonus points that you can redeem later.

Are several preparations fed together or separately?

Our preparations can be fed either together or divided into several meals. The time of administration has no influence on effectiveness. The only important thing is that the preparations are administered according to the recommended dosage.

Can the capsules be opened to mix the contents with food?

For hygienic reasons, the capsules are preferably mixed closed with the food or hidden in a treat. However, if the dog does not want to or cannot swallow it, the capsule can be pulled apart to mix the contents with the food or give it with some yogurt, cottage cheese or liver sausage. Since the capsules often consist of additional collagen, it is particularly recommended for our joint preparations to soften them in water and mix them with the food.

Application of our preparations: Permanently or as a cure?

Whether our preparations are used permanently or as a cure depends on various factors, such as the type of complaint or the preventative goal. We generally recommend long-term supplementary feeding of our products. Continuous use is advisable, especially when the joints, spine or intervertebral discs are under particular strain, in order to support your dog's quality of life in the long term.

However, there are specific situations in which a shorter duration of use is appropriate. For example, when using VITAL gastro for acute diarrhea or loose stools, an application period of around 5 days is recommended. This information relates specifically to the acute situation. To support other digestive problems or to regenerate after a worm treatment, VITAL gastro can easily be given over a longer period of time.

Other preparations such as VITAL immune, VITAL shine plus or VITAMIN B can be used a few times a year depending on the situation during periods of increased stress or as a preventive measure. The optimal duration of use ultimately depends on your dog’s individual needs. Our team is available at any time to help you choose the right duration of use and to answer any further questions.

Do our preparations contain additives?

Our products stand for purity and naturalness. They do not contain any unwanted additives and are free from genetic engineering, animal testing, gluten, fructose, yeast, soy and palm oil. We also completely avoid flavors, sugar, grains and preservatives. This means they meet the highest standards set for first-class food supplements and offer dogs only the best from nature.

Tips if dogs are hesitant to accept preparations

Our DOG FIT preparations have been extensively tested for acceptability and many dogs, including ours, have happily accepted them. But as with all new things, your dog may react a little cautiously at first. Here are some tried and tested methods you can try to help your dog adjust:

Adjust amount: Start with a smaller amount of powder or granules and gradually increase it. For some dogs it helps to gradually get used to the new taste.
Open capsules: With capsules, it can help to open them and mix the contents directly into the food. The effectiveness remains unaffected because many ingredients are completely broken down in the stomach. Particularly in the case of joint preparations, the capsules consist of additional collagen. The capsules should be fed with. If applicable. Soak it in a little water beforehand and then mix it with the food with the contents of the capsules.
Mix with something tasty: Try the powder. Combine the powder or capsule preparation with particularly tasty treats to make it more attractive for your dog. For example, small amounts of liver sausage or cottage cheese have proven successful.

Colour and consistency of our preparations

The appearance and consistency of natural products are influenced by factors such as exposure to light, duration of growth, season and drying. Therefore, different colors and consistencies can arise depending on the batch. However, this has nothing to do with the quality, but is simply a visual difference.

When are our preparations added?

Our preparations are designed to be administered daily or every other day, depending on the individual dosage recommendation, which is based on the dog's weight. The time of administration, whether morning or evening, and whether they are given together with food or separately, is flexible and can be adapted to the dog's routine. However, it is important to adhere to the recommended dosage exactly and to administer the preparations regularly in order to achieve optimal effect.

Can I give DOG FIT to my cat?

Except for the FRESH product, all other DOG FIT products in the smallest size "small" are also suitable for cats.
