Chondroitin is one of the joint nutrients and a natural component of joint cartilage. Since the dog's body does not produce it itself, it is taken in through food or targeted supplementation. It supports the normal function of cartilage and joints and is ideal for preventive care as well as during periods of increased joint strain.
What is chondroitin?
The micronutrient chondroitin is one of the so-called joint nutrients and is an essential component of the dog's articular cartilage. The special micronutrient cannot be produced independently by the dog's organism and must be supplied through the diet. For this reason, various factors, such as an unbalanced diet of the animals, overloading or the natural aging process, can lead to an undersupply of the cartilage mass with chondroitin. In such a case, the articular cartilage can be significantly restricted in its important protective function for the dog's joints and they wear out over the years.
What is the role of chondroitin?
In the articular cartilage of dogs Chondroitin has the important task of ensuring both the flexibility of the cartilage cells and their stability against compression. The articular cartilage serves dogs as protection against joint wear and tear that arises from the stress of a wide variety of movements. Chondroitin is responsible for ensuring that the articular cartilage can optimally buffer these stresses, for which the individual cartilage cells must of course be both very flexible and stable.

When should chondroitin be administered?
