For more than two decades, VITA Assistenzhunde e.V. has been supporting people with physical disabilities and other health restrictions by providing them with qualified assistance dogs. These dogs are more than just companions; they are helpers who enable their owners to lead a more self-determined and fulfilling life.
The careful selection and training of the dogs ensures that they are tailored to the individual needs of their owners, which in turn significantly improves the quality of life of those affected. However, the work of VITA Assistenzhunde e.V. is not limited to training the dogs. A key component of its success lies in its holistic approach, which promotes an intensive bond between humans and animals. During the approximately six-week reunification process, humans and dogs are carefully prepared for life together, which enables a deep and lasting bond.

Friends for Life Germany e.V., based in Hemer, is passionately committed to animal welfare and believes that animal welfare knows no borders. Working closely with partners in Romania, the non-profit organisation is dedicated to caring for street dogs in Craiova and Goiesti, with around 130 dogs being looked after by volunteers.
The care of these dogs, including food, medical treatment and castration programmes, is financed entirely by donations. Friends for Life is not only involved in direct animal aid on site, but also organises donation transports to improve the living conditions of the animals;
With a strong team spirit and voluntary commitment in their free time, as well as through cooperation with other organisations, Friends for Life Germany e.V. strives for sustainable change in order to effectively help both the animals and the animal welfare activists in Romania.
Thanks to the valuable work of Friends for Life e.V., our dogs have found a loving home with us.
