The Relationship Between Dog and Human
All dog owners love their four-legged friends, and it is usually an extremely close relationship. This bond can certainly be compared to the relationship between parents and their child. There are many parallels here, because our dogs live in constant dependence on us. They are really like human children and rely on our daily help.
Children eventually lead their own lives
But our dogs stay with us forever. So we set the essential framework for our life together. Single people in particular, for whom a dog is often the only close companion, tend to regard their dog above all – especially when it is small – as a mere lapdog and cuddly toy. In my closest family I have witnessed a case where an animal was dressed in little clothes, the best shampoo was used, and walks were taken only in fine neighbourhoods.
When the owner sadly died suddenly, little Lily ended up with a huge Labrador and five cats. Over time this developed into a close relationship. Lily was finally allowed to romp about on the meadow, ate grass for the first time in her life and gathered many other natural experiences.
On the whole, dogs lead a relaxed life
In general, our dogs lead a relaxed, stress-free life when they are given certain rules and clear structures. Of course, cuddles are necessary here and are expressly desired. When, for example, a dog moves his mistress with a loving look to give him an extra slice of sausage, or pesters his master until he fetches the lead for a walk, he is moving his owners to obey him, and not the other way round.

- Confident mastery of the most important commands such as recall
- Mutual trust through clear decisions by the owners
It is best if the dog can experience that his humans' lives do indeed revolve around him, but that the most important decisions are made by the owners. This means that for a relaxed coexistence it is essential that he confidently masters the most important commands. Recall and the down command in particular are crucial so that you can go outside with him safely and calmly at any time.
